| We
have done numerous workshops in the last couple of years, judged many
county fairs, and in 2005 hosted an Ag Enterprise tour at the farm for
the University of Illinois Cooperative Extension. If you are in
need of help with any positive goat endeavor, give us a call and we will
try to assist you.

Victory Farm is alive and well. After a long bout with serious family
illness, the farm and Boer goat herd has endured. We have a
much smaller but select herd to provide you with quality animals. Our
animals are strong and productive. We are very proud of the structural
correctness that is our foundation. My parents Paul and Mary Boen are no
longer well enough to assist in the daily operation of the farm since
January 2003. The young man from Catlin High School who was
specifically devoted to the goats, Christopher "my boy Chris"
McKee, was taken from us in an auto crash in May of 2004. It took
a lot of thought, courage, and tears to believe that we could go on
without them. We started dispersing the herd and dropped to just
25 head. I am proud to say somehow God provided the strength and
gave me the will to persevere. A certain "group of
angels" stayed with me during this troubled time and encouraged me
onward. One of those angels is Mr. Daniel Grubaugh from Catlin
High School who has put in many hours fencing, feeding, and cleaning up
after the goats. The other MVA is Ms. Angela Ryan. Ange
has helped take care of both of my parents as well as the goats and
she has become a partner in the goat operation.

In
Memory of Mary B. Davis Boen--My mother passed away April 2,
2005. She was my best friend and I miss her terribly. This
web page would be remiss without mentioning her. She was and will
always be "the wind beneath my wings". My life and
everything I am is because of her love and devotion. I now
understand the unselfish gift she gave every year of my youth taking her
only vacation to take me to the county 4-H and FFA fairs. She
loved our farm dogs, fed numerous bottle babies over the years, and
loved each animal on the farm as if it was the most special. Thank God
for angels on
earth.
In Memory of
Paul W. Boen--My
father left to go be with my mom Feb. 15, 2006. He was my
mentor, my guidance, my disciplinarian. I respect dad for his bravery
as a combat machine gunner in WWII for almost 3 years. He was a
good soldier and earned several Bronze Stars. He was also a good
father--home each night with me--teaching me to do chores. It
was not until I was an adult that he shared that he retraced
every step I made to make sure I did each chore correctly--I always
wondered how he knew the things I forgot!! I miss his wit and
wisdom. Thank God for the unique and special gift of my
wonderful parents!!
In Memory of My
Brother--Yet another loss in my family network--My brother
Paul Edward Boen
passed this life January 12, 2008. I miss his laughter, his
teasing, and the way he always called me his "baby sister". Ed
always allowed me to be just me--encouraging me to become my own
destiny and not the world's idea of who that should be. He somehow
made every Christmas magical. His example of courage and strength
during his illness was inspirational. When I think of him I think
of smiles and love. When I see him again I'll have the marbles we
used to play with, the sparklers we used to light, and a set of
rocks with me in rainbow colors. He'll be waiting for me on the
other side. Til then.........
