Sweet Victory Farm is located in Alvin, IL in the middle of farm country. We have one of the earliest established herds of Boers in IL--we have been breeding Boers since the 1990's. We would like to invite you to meet our Boer goats. We love them and work with them daily. We have recently made the decision to downsize the herd. We will manage a smaller, more elite herd in the future instead of a large herd of does of varying quality. Our does are expected to perform whether they are brood does or brood/show does. We raise traditional colored Boers as well as red/black/paint Boers. Our goal for the future is to produce quality Boer stock that will show well and will produce even better. Longevity is also of utmost importance--we like for you to see several generations of our animals when you visit us. We only add new animals as herd improvements. Each animal is carefully selected for how it will positively influence the herd. We will be concentrating on parasite resistance and selecting for those goats that show natural parasite resistance. For over forty years it has been a family understanding that stock is fed and checked on daily. We consider good nutrition to be a cornerstone in a successful goat breeding operation. Our feed is specially formulated for our herd by Kent Feeds through Newtown Grain Company. Young stock is being grown using Show Rite Duncan Grower and Show Rite Fat and Sassy. From our percentage Boers to our fullbloods, we have assembled a strong and solid herd. Our does are raised with mass and reproductive performance in mind. We want good milkers and multiple births, however, the does must also possess structural correctness to be retained in the herd. Come by and see our future which can be your future too!

New Additions!

Sweet Victory Farm has added a select group of Nubian dairy goats to the herd. These goats are all CAE and CL tested negative and will be housed/maintained separately from our Boer stock until the entire herd is tested. We feel dairy goats are versatile farm animals perfect for the future and decided to diversify the herd to satisfy personal and production goals. Our Nubes are strong in the influence of Frosty Marvin and will be bred/selected for strength, elegance, beauty, and milk production. We will also handle a handful of recorded grade goats as well. In the era of consumers looking for a better food product, SVF has become more diversified to meet those needs. We have been marketing meat goats for several years. Now you may contact us for fresh brown eggs or broilers raised without harmful chemicals in a more bird- friendly environment than the factory farms of today. We should have farm raised turkeys for your holiday feasts as well. And, of course, fresh goat milk and cheese is on the horizon. Ours is a small family farm—purchased and governed by my father, Paul Boen, and tended to by my mother Mary B. Davis-Boen, who was the glue that held it all together. Small, self supporting family farms are becoming a thing of the past. The know-how and hard work have been forgotten by most these days. But in reverence to my folks, I will tend to this place—nurse it back to health—and be a proper steward of the land and its creatures until my dying day. My partner, Angela Ryan, tended to my folks until they passed this life and she will assist me as we bring life back to the old place.

We invite you to evaluate our Boer goats. We have been breeding Boer goats for 10 years now and have incorporated the best genetics from highly reputable breeders. We believe that the goat should sell the goat—not papers or ribbons or a face or shiny belt buckle. Our selection process has always been based on the South African standard for the Boer goat.

We select for:

production including natural estrus, motherablility/milking ability, growth rates, and fertility
sound feet and legs
straight tops
good pigment
good teat structure
sound mouths
longevity

If you want goats with ennoblements in their pedigrees, we have those for you too.

If you want goats with color, we have selected for that too. We have found the variety of colored goats appeals to us though the SA did not select for color initially.
